GSoC 2010 Mentors
Mentors have an extremely important role in GSoC, teaching students how to contribute and guiding them before, during and after the project development - until the student becomes a member him/herself.

How to become a mentor
In order to become a mentor, you must have made some contributions for the open source community in general, and have expertise on the technologies involved in the project proposal.
To become a mentor you only need to show your interest in participating in GSoC, send a mail to invesalius at cti dot gov dot br, including:
- your name,
- your areas of expertise,
- experience,
- how could contribute
If you have some project ideas just add them to the ideas page.
Mentor duties
Mentors are expected to:
- Spend some time with their students (at leaset 5 hours/week),
- Respond to the students questions as quickly as possible;
- Keep students on the project schedule and motivate them when difficulties arise;
- Know, at any time, the current status of the projects of their assigned students.
